How does a Hydraulic Pump work?
Once the hydraulic pump is running, it performs only two functions. The first function is that its mechanical action creates a vacuum at the inlet of the pump, allowing atmospheric force to push liquid from the tank into the inlet of the pump. The second function is that its mechanical action delivers this fluid to the outlet of the pump and forces it into the hydraulic system. A hydraulic pump produces movement of a liquid or flow, then it does not produce force. But it produces the flow required to create force, which is a function of the resistance to flow of the liquid within the system.
